Construction schedule from the tender
A Gantt chart built from your tender line items: estimated durations, dependencies between trades, milestones — then it is yours to adjust.
The schedule is almost always rebuilt from scratch. Yet the line items already exist, quantified and priced, in the tender that has just been awarded. Between the two lies nothing but translation work: grouping items into tasks, giving them a duration, setting the obvious sequences.
Cantaia does that translation. From the line items of a tender linked to the project, the schedule module proposes tasks grouped by phase, with a duration per task, the usual dependencies between trades — you do not tile onto a fresh screed — and the handover milestones.
What changes
An immediate starting point
A first complete schedule in minutes instead of a blank sheet. You correct, which is always faster than building everything.
Realistic sequences
The classic dependencies between trades are set by default, technical waits included, such as drying time before floor coverings.
Direct editing
Move a bar, change a duration, add a task or a milestone. Undo and redo are available while editing.
Sharing without an account
A3 PDF export for the site office wall, or a read-only share link for the client, without creating an account for them.
How it works
- Step 01
Link a tender
The schedule starts from the line items of a tender already analysed in the project.
- Step 02
Generate
Tasks are grouped by phase, with an estimated duration and the dependencies between trades.
- Step 03
Adjust
You correct the durations that do not fit your organisation, move tasks, and add contractual milestones.
- Step 04
Circulate
A3 export for display, or a public read-only link for those without a Cantaia account.
Who it is for
The generated schedule is not a signed execution programme: it is a starting frame. It is useful at bid stage, to show the client a credible sequence, and at site start-up, to phase the works without opening an empty file.
The proposed durations rest on the quantities of the line items and on the usual technical sequences. They know nothing about your crew sizes or your subcontracting habits: those corrections are yours, and they stay in the project.
Frequently asked
Do you strictly need an analysed tender?
That is the main use case, because the tender supplies the line items and quantities. A schedule can also be built by hand in the same editor, task by task.
Does the schedule update with actual progress?
Progress is entered per task and compared against the original frame. The drift shows directly on the chart, without keeping two files in parallel.
Can it be opened in MS Project or Excel?
The export available today is the A3 PDF, designed for display and sending. The read-only share link avoids exporting just to show the current state.
